Research Overview

The Computer Networks Laboratory (LRC) is an interdisciplinary research group focused on studying the different layers of networks, from the MAC layer to the application layer. It is located at the Institute of Computing at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), in the State of São Paulo, Brazil.

The team at the laboratory is composed of researchers and students with backgrounds in computer science, telecommunications, and electronics. Their main goal is to develop methodologies and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of computer networks.

Research topics at the laboratory include network protocols, wireless networks, security, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT). They also collaborate with industry partners to develop solutions that can be applied to real-world problems.

The laboratory offers undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as research opportunities for students and post-docs. They also organize seminars and workshops to disseminate knowledge and promote collaboration with other research groups. If you are interested in becoming part of the team please review our join and open positions pages.

We have published over 100 papers with major areas of focus in precision Next Generation Networks, Big Data in Clouds and Resource Management for 4G/5G Networks. We are also actively involved in training the next generation of network engineers through formal courses, online tutorials and workshops.
